Job summary

Agility Robotics in Fremont, CA is seeking a Staff Firmware Engineer to design robust robot firmware architectures and subsystems for our line of humanoid robots. You will bridge hardware and high-level control algorithms, documenting interfaces and enabling production-ready designs.

You will contribute to C++ firmware architecture for sensors, controls, and power management, develop communication layers (EtherCAT/CAN), and perform real-time testing with lab equipment.

Qualifications

• BS in CS/EE with 10+ years industry experience.
• Strong modern C++ (17/20) and embedded software practices.
• Linux-based development environment proficiency.
• Ability to read schematics, PCB layouts and datasheets.
• Clear verbal communication of technical information.

Responsibilities

• Plan robot firmware architecture and design subsystems.
• Develop robust firmware for low-level sensor networks, controls, and power management.
• Bridge hardware with higher level robot control algorithms and document interfaces.
• Write well-tested, maintainable C++ code and perform real-time hardware testing.
• Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams to integrate software and hardware.
