Job summary
Generac Home is seeking a Senior Manager, Engineering - Firmware to lead the firmware and embedded software team responsible for embedded controls at the heart of Generac's home energy products.
The role combines deep technical credibility in embedded systems with people leadership, planning, and cross-functional partnership with hardware, systems engineering, product management, and platform teams to deliver reliable firmware on schedule.
Qualifications
- Minimum 10 years of embedded firmware and software development experience.
- Minimum 3 years leading engineering teams, as a people manager or in a formal technical leadership capacity.
- Bachelor’s degree in EE/CE/Software or related field; advanced degree preferred.
Responsibilities
- Lead, coach and develop a team of firmware and embedded software engineers; hire, onboard, evaluate performance, and plan succession.
- Own firmware architecture and design for embedded controllers; guide C/C++ application firmware and interfaces.
- Direct firmware verification strategy, testing, and integration with HIL/SIL environments; ensure quality standards.
- Partner with hardware, systems, product management, and test to define interfaces, requirements, and roadmaps.
