Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or a closely related engineering discipline.
• 3+ years of professional embedded firmware development experience, ideally for instruments or hardware products.
• Proficiency in embedded C/C++ programming.
• Experience with Git version control.
• Experience with microcontroller or ARM-based systems, including bare-metal firmware or RTOS.
• Experience developing firmware for hardware interfaces, data acquisition, and real-time control.
• Ability to read electrical schematics and hardware datasheets.
• Hands-on PCB bring-up and firmware debugging with lab equipment (oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, JTAG).
• Strong communication and teamwork in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain firmware for embedded systems (bare-metal and RTOS).
• Interpret schematics and datasheets to support hardware integration.
• Develop real-time firmware for precise timing and high-speed data acquisition.
• Bring up new boards in lab with hardware team; troubleshoot firmware/hardware issues.
• Interface firmware with host applications and instrument software.
• Create firmware requirements, design docs, test plans, and release procedures.
