Job summary

NVIDIA is seeking an experienced Software Engineer to join the NIC Firmware team. The role focuses on developing core features for Mellanox NIC firmware, collaborating with architecture and software design groups, and creating verification tests in a rigorous firmware environment.

You will gain deep knowledge of system debugging, networking stacks, and the HW/FW/SW relationship, while contributing to a large-scale software project and hardware-firmware integration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field.
• 5+ years of professional software development experience.
• Strong proficiency in C and C++.
• Solid understanding of networking protocols.
• Experience with PCIe and virtualization technologies.
• Scripting experience with Python and/or Bash.
• Strong analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills.
• Self-motivated, independent, and a great teammate with excellent interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

We are looking for an excellent Software Engineer to join the NIC Firmware team. The Firmware team develops innovative networking features for cloud, HPC and storage. What you will be doing:

What we need to see:

• Excellent grasp of data structures and algorithms fundamentals.

Ways to stand out from the crowd:

• Deep familiarity with RDMA stacks (RoCE, InfiniBand) and low‑latency networking.
• Experience in high‑performance or large‑scale compute environments.
• Proven experience with distributed systems and scalability challenges.

Your base salary will be determined based on your location, experience, and the pay of employees in similar positions. The base salary range is 152,000 USD - 241,500 USD for Level 3, and 184,000 USD - 287,500 USD for Level 4.

You will also be eligible for equity and benefits.
