Job summary

Pentangle Tech Services | P5 Group is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to design embedded software and hardware for vehicle data systems. You will develop requirements, write tests and documentation, and support releases across multiple teams.

The role requires strong expertise in embedded Linux, RTOS, CAN/J1939 communication, and multi-thread systems, with leadership capabilities and willingness to travel internationally up to 5%. Proficiency in MS Office is essential.

Qualifications

• BS degree in Electrical Engineering and 5+ years in design of related products.
• 5+ years in software and hardware electronics for vehicle data collection, monitoring, analysis, controls and display.
• Experience with embedded software, Linux and RTOS.
• Understanding of microcontrollers and embedded development.
• Experience with multi-thread real-time systems and debugging bench tests.
• Leadership of development projects with minimal supervision.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
• Willingness to travel up to 5% internationally.

Responsibilities

• Develop software requirements, embedded software, test requirements and required documentation, support software releasing and implementation.
• Communicate effectively verbally and in writing; draft technical documentation and present at Design Reviews; inform leadership of project status and risks.
• Develop Quality Confirmation Check Sheets for design concepts.
• Coordinate with Manufacturing and Suppliers to resolve specifications and accommodate capabilities.
• Determine required quality tests and coordinate with Test Department.
• Meet Quality, Cost and Delivery targets; drive continuous improvement.
• Maintain Engineering Change Control with Release Letters.
• Support prototype development by resolving problems with countermeasures.
• Assist Service and QA by root-cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Present design concepts and progress at Design Review Meetings.
• Support Sales and Marketing by ensuring product meets customer expectations and by developing special features.
• Travel to machine worksites for surveys, problem investigation, installations and countermeasure evaluation.
