Job summary

Oracle seeks a senior staff-level firmware engineer to design and prototype BIOS/UEFI firmware for x86 and ARM datacenter platforms in a highly matrixed environment. You will own BMC firmware development and work across product, infrastructure, security and platform teams.

You will mentor engineers, review firmware across the stack, and ensure OCI security and deployment requirements are met while collaborating with silicon vendors on reference code and updates.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of firmware engineering with senior/staff ownership of production systems.
• Knowledge of secure boot, TPM, measured boot and hardware root of trust.
• Hands-on firmware development in BIOS/BMC or server firmware domains.
• Strong cross-team communication and technical judgment.

Responsibilities

• Design and prototype BIOS/UEFI firmware for x86/ARM platforms.
• Review BMC firmware to match target platform needs (sensors, security).
• Understand interactions of all firmware in the data center rack.
• Enhance BMC firmware for DC-specific improvements.
• Contribute to and extend OpenBMC platform management stacks.
• Integrate Redfish, IPMI, PLDM interfaces.
• Collaborate with silicon vendors on reference code and updates.
• Ensure firmware meets OCI security and deployment requirements.
• Mentor engineers and define maintainable firmware standards.
