Job summary

Oracle is seeking a senior staff-level engineer to design and prototype BIOS/UEFI firmware for data center platforms. You will work across product, infrastructure, security and platform teams in a highly matrixed environment and own hands-on firmware development for early-stage products.

You will mentor engineers, review BMC and platform firmware, and collaborate with silicon vendors to ensure security, deployability and reliability of DC firmware.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of firmware engineering experience, including senior/staff-level ownership of production systems.
• Knowledge of secure boot, TPM, measured boot and hardware root of trust.
• Hands-on firmware engineering in BIOS, BMC FW or other platform firmware in server areas.
• Strong communication, technical judgment, and ability to lead across teams without direct reporting authority.
• Knowledge of server firmware stacks such as EDKII, OpenBMC and related standards.
• Understanding of firmware standards: UEFI, IPMI, Redfish; server platform standards like PLDM, PCIe.

Responsibilities

• Design and prototype BIOS/UEFI firmware for x86 and/or ARM platforms.
• Review BMC firmware to align with target platform needs (sensors, routing, security).
• Develop and extend OpenBMC firmware with data-center specific enhancements.
• Contribute and integrate platform management interfaces such as Redfish, IPMI, PLDM.
• Mentor engineers, participate in design reviews, and define standards for production-grade firmware.
