M9 Solutions is seeking a Senior Firmware Engineer to join our team onsite in Taunton, MA, supporting a government contract. A current Secret clearance is required to work on sensitive systems.

The role focuses on bare-metal firmware in C for ARM Cortex-M and other MCUs, developing drivers, optimizing performance, and collaborating with hardware engineers to translate requirements into robust firmware solutions.

Qualifications

• Active Secret security clearance.
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field with 8+ years experience; or Master's with 6+ years.
• R&D experience with technology trends.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills with experience leading design teams.
• Team player committed to ongoing professional development.
• Identifies opportunities to apply AI for continuous improvement and innovation.
• Experience with oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, debuggers and embedded testing frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Develop, test, and implement electrical components, equipment, and systems.
• Participate in requirements analysis, design, integration, verification, and reviews.
• Collaborate with project leaders, program managers, and external customers within defined processes.
• Design and implement bare-metal firmware in C for ARM Cortex-M and other MCUs.
• Develop drivers and interfaces for SPI, I2C, UART, GPIO, ADC, PWM, and timer peripherals.
• Profile and optimize code for performance, power consumption, and memory constraints.
• Work closely with hardware engineers, systems architects, and product teams to translate requirements into firmware solutions.
