Job summary

D2 Consulting is seeking a Senior Firewall Engineer to join a high-impact team protecting mission-critical infrastructure in a government-facing environment. You’ll work with corporate and government leadership where your voice matters.

Responsibilities include designing secure architectures, managing firewall and IDS stacks, and leading incident response. Requires current TS/SCI clearance and IAT II certifications.

Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI clearance (current).
• Ability to pass U.S. Government polygraph (post-hire).
• DoD 8140/8570.01-M IAT Level II compliant certification (current).
• CSSP Infrastructure Support certification or plan to earn within 120 days.

Responsibilities

• Design & build state-of-the-art secure network architectures from concept to implementation.
• Protect the network by managing WAN, LAN, CAN, and remote security environments; handle incidents quickly.
• Own the security stack — firewalls, F5 load balancers, web/mail gateways, IDS platforms, and management tools.
• Lead incident response — investigate, document, and drive corrective action when it matters.
• Shape security operations by developing SOPs the team will rely on.
• Stay ahead of threats by researching and evaluating emerging network security technologies.
• Be the expert in the room — liaise with leadership, customers, and government stakeholders on security posture.
