Job summary

CDW is seeking a Senior Network Engineer to support mission‑critical infrastructure in a secure federal environment. The role emphasizes design, implementation, administration, troubleshooting, and sustainment of enterprise networks with TS/SCI clearance.

The candidate will design and maintain LAN/WAN/VPN, implement security controls, and create detailed documentation while ensuring availability and regulatory compliance in classified and unclassified environments.

Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI clearance required.
• U.S. citizenship required due to federal security requirements.
• Senior‑level hands‑on experience in enterprise network engineering in secure environments.
• Strong knowledge of routing, switching, VLANs, HA, and network segmentation.
• Experience configuring Cisco or comparable platforms, firewalls, VPNs, load balancers, and network management tools.
• Ability to troubleshoot complex network problems using logs and monitoring tools.
• Familiarity with DoD cybersecurity practices, STIGs, RMF/ATO support.
• Ability to produce clear technical docs and diagrams.
• Excellent communication to brief risks and recommendations to leadership.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience; DoD certs/additional exp is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design, configure, implement, and maintain enterprise network infrastructure (LAN/WAN/VPN).
• Perform day-to-day network operations, monitoring, troubleshooting, and lifecycle support.
• Diagnose and resolve complex issues affecting availability, performance, and security.
• Develop and maintain network diagrams, configurations, and SOPs.
• Plan changes through change management to minimize risk and downtime.
• Support network security baselines, access control, and vulnerability remediation.
• Evaluate hardware/software and recommend upgrades for resiliency and performance.
• Collaborate with government stakeholders, vendors, and mission partners.
• Provide artifacts and documentation for accreditation, audits, and compliance.
• Mentor junior engineers and operations staff.
