This position is 6-months contract-to-hire. No sub-vendors please. 100% remote.

Summary:

This engineer will be responsible for establishing network security infrastructure standards, supporting and managing projects requiring network security infrastructure activities and providing network security infrastructure support. You will be responsible for overseeing the design, architecture, capacity, implementation of a variety of network security infrastructure environment such as firewalls, proxy appliances, cloud security services, URL filtering, IPS, IDS, VPNs, NAC etc.). You will provide guidance and consulting to other team members and be responsible for designing, implementing and troubleshooting Palo Alto firewalls.

Responsibilities:

• Design, implement, and maintain network security infrastructure, including firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, and cloud security solutions.
• Configure and manage Palo Alto Networks firewalls, including GlobalProtect and Panorama.
• Collaborate with teams to design and deploy Fortinet, Cisco, and cloud-based firewall solutions (AWS, Azure).
• Monitor, analyze, and optimize network security systems to ensure peak performance and compliance with security standards.
• Provide support for Cisco routing and switching environments, including Meraki and ISR series devices.
• Conduct network security audits, provide compliance recommendations, and maintain related documentation.
• Develop and maintain runbooks, baseline configurations, and architecture diagrams using tools like Microsoft Visio.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to network connectivity, security policies, and performance.
• Lead or participate in client projects requiring network security expertise, providing guidance to junior engineers when necessary.

Qualifications:

Required:

• Proficient in Palo Alto Networks Strata, Cortex, and Prisma solutions.
• Hands-on experience with Fortinet Security Fabric, AWS, and Azure firewalls.
• Strong understanding of network protocols (TCP/IP, VPN, NAT, etc.).
• Familiarity with security compliance standards such as PCI DSS.
• Experience with tools like Wireshark for traffic analysis and troubleshooting.
• Excellent documentation and communication skills.

Preferred:

• Certifications: PCNSE, CCNA, CCNP, Fortinet NSE (1-4), or CISSP.
• Experience with hypervisors like Hyper-V or VMware.
• Knowledge of scripting in Python or PowerShell for automation.
