Our work depends on a Firewall Engineer joining our team to support the Army Global Unified Network (AGUN) program in Falls Church, VA.

This is an IT Service Management contract in support of GENM-O’s mission is to enable information dominance from the tactical edge to the home station for the Army, DoD, National Command Authority, and international partners by acquiring, implementing, and sustaining strategic satellite and terrestrial communication systems, and by leveraging technologies to meet current and future requirements. AGUN is to design, procure, maintain, deploy, and transition a Global SDN solution in accordance with applicable Army policies and regulations. The AGUN-INC1 TO will provide a unified approach to ensure standardized deployments and configurations at multiple locations throughout the globe.

To be successful in this position you need to be collaborative and willing to work within a team. While you will need to be a self-starter completing tasks on your own, working together is critical in this role. You will be interfacing with the client and senior staff. Therefore, you should be articulate in your communications because your opinion matters. You will need to explain technical intricacies in a way that is easily understood.

Firewall Engineer : Designs, configures, maintains, operates, and troubleshoots firewalls in coordination with teams to achieve and maintain connectivity with other Government agencies. Provides operation of firewall security and VPN components.

Manages and maintains status of operations and monitoring using incidents / problems / requests in the service management tool. Plans and performs operations and maintenance within established operational governance structures, policies, and operating procedures ensuring minimal operational downtime for critical, scheduled, and unscheduled maintenance.

Operates and maintains network security infrastructure including WAN, cloud infrastructure and connectivity, data centers, and virtual environments. Plans, implements, upgrades or monitors security measures for the protection of computer networks and information.

Desired - Experience with Palo Alto Firewalls.

Certifications :

Appropriately certified for their designated role in accordance with DoD 8570.01-M, DFARS 252.239-7001, AR 25-2, or any successor policies or regulations; Possesses a DoD 8570.01 approved baseline certification or higher

The likely salary range for this position is $80,226 - $133,973. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
