Job summary

General Dynamics Information Technology, Inc. is seeking a Lead Firearms Instructor to serve as the on-site training manager for the FFDO program.

You will conduct all classroom instruction, deliver the approved TSA training and safety brief, introduce new equipment, and ensure students understand the safety briefing. The LFI must maintain a 1:6 instructor/student ratio, verify credentials before training, and supervise monthly requalification sessions.

Qualifications

• Current or former federal law enforcement agent; officer; or civilian employee with recognized federal firearms instructor training program deemed acceptable by TSA/FAMS.
• 2-3 days firearms re-qualification training program under technical direction of SAC; FAMS Training Division; FFDO Program Office.
• 5 years of firearms training experience; Associates Degree or equivalent education/certification/training or work/military experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead classroom instruction; deliver TSA training and safety brief; describe new equipment.
• Verify weapons and credentials before training commences.
• Maintain instructor/student ratio of 1:6 and ensure sufficient training supplies on-hand.
• Sign and certify qualification scores for FFDOs; manage custody of equipment if needed.
