Job summary

Relay Fire & Safety in Baltimore seeks an experienced Fire Sprinkler Test & Inspection Technician II/III to lead inspections and maintenance of commercial sprinkler systems. You will train, mentor, and coordinate with the inspection crew, ensuring accurate reporting and customer satisfaction.

The role requires strong field presence, NFPA knowledge, and the ability to advance customer assets onboarding and data accuracy in our inspection platform. A company vehicle is provided for travel.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years leading fire protection system inspections, testing, and maintenance.
• Strong hands-on experience inspecting and testing commercial fire sprinkler systems.
• Experience or exposure inspecting fire alarm systems.
• NICET II certification in Inspection and Testing of Water-Based Systems.
• Ability to identify and document deficiencies accurately.
• Knowledge of NFPA standards and inspection procedures.
• Ability to read system documentation for sprinkler and fire alarm components.
• Experience using electronic inspection software or field-service platforms.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to lead, train, and mentor less-experienced technicians.

Responsibilities

• Lead and perform inspection, testing, and maintenance of commercial fire sprinkler systems.
• Inspect and test fire alarm systems based on scope and qualifications.
• Document findings and communicate results to customers and internal teams.
• Complete detailed inspection reports using Relay's platform.
• Onboard new customer locations and enter assets into the platform.
• Oversee initial inspections for new customers to verify equipment data.
• Identify repair or retrofit opportunities during inspections.
• Provide clear information to customers about results and deficiencies.
• Train and mentor inspectors and developing technicians.
• Conduct performance reviews and coaching for the team.
• Collaborate with management to improve field performance and service quality.
