Job summary

Goodwin Recruiting is seeking a Senior Fire Sprinkler Designer for an in-office role in Lincoln, Nebraska. You will independently manage projects from initial design through fabrication release on varied commercial and industrial projects.

Ideal candidates have NICET Level II in Water-Based Systems Layout and 5+ years of progressive fire-sprinkler design experience, with 3–4 years acceptable at one company. AutoSPRINK experience is important and strong hydraulic/calculation skills are required.

Qualifications

• Must have NICET Level II certification in Water-Based Systems Layout.
• 5+ years of progressive fire-sprinkler design experience, with 3–4 years acceptable at one company.

Responsibilities

• Review contracts, specifications, drawings, water-supply information, and project criteria before beginning system layout.
• Establish hazard classifications and design criteria, then complete system layouts and hydraulic calculations.
• Determine sprinkler spacing, pipe sizing, routing, elevations, hangers, and equipment interfaces.
• Prepare permit drawings, shop drawings, fabrication drawings, material lists, and supporting documentation.
• Coordinate designs with architectural, structural, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing information.
• Identify scope gaps and design conflicts, prepare RFIs, and resolve comments before they create field problems.
• Support Project Managers and field personnel with answers, sketches, revisions, and record-document updates.
• Check drawings, calculations, material lists, and fabrication information before release.
• Review work completed by less-experienced designers and provide technical guidance when needed.
