Job summary

Summit Fire & Security is seeking a Sr. Designer to independently complete project designs and submittals for fire protection systems. You will use HydraCad/CAD tools, perform hydraulic calculations, and coordinate with contractors to secure design approvals.

The role requires NICET II/III certification, 5–10 years of sprinkler design experience, and strong math and communication skills. Expect office and on-site work within Atlanta, GA, with ongoing safety training.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or equivalent required.
• NICET II or NICET III certification or state equivalent required.
• 5-10 years' experience as sprinkler designer.
• Construction experience and math skills required.

Responsibilities

• Design automatic sprinkler systems per codes and guidelines.
• Perform hydraulic calculations for designs.
• Prepare submittal packages for AHJ approvals.
• Coordinate with contractors and participate in meetings.
• Prepare fabrication lists and requisition materials.
• Assist field personnel with design issues.
• Submit final close-out documents after testing.
• Adhere to safety programs and provide training on design topics.
