Job summary

Firetrol Protection Systems seeks a Fire Sprinkler Designer to produce design drawings and calculations for permitting and construction on diverse projects, including healthcare, storage, assemblies, and mercantile facilities. Proficiency with AutoSprink and BIM coordination using Navisworks is required.

The ideal candidate will have NICET Level 3 in Water-Based System Layout, strong independence under the Design Manager, and solid experience with NFPA standards and AutoCAD compatibility across

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years fire protection design experience in fire protection systems.
• BIM (Navisworks) experience required.
• Texas NICET Level 3 a plus.
• Must be familiar with NFPA 13, 14, 20, 22 and FM Global Standards.
• Technical understanding of Fire Sprinkler Design including Wet, Dry, Preaction, and Deluge type systems.
• AutoCAD experience and third party software training.

Responsibilities

• Produce fire protection design drawings and calculations for permitting and construction for various project types.
• Coordinate with the Design Manager on drawing schedules for permit and fabrication.
• Perform hydraulic calculations as required.
• Review design drawings in detail before fabrication.
• Attend project meetings and jobsite visits, as needed; perform site surveys as required.
• Communicate with field foremen about changes due to coordination.
• Review submittals for size, quantity and design compliance with engineer requirements.
