Job summary

Firetrol Protection Systems in San Antonio, TX seeks a Fire Sprinkler Designer to produce fire protection design drawings and calculations for permitting and construction across diverse project types.

Requirements include AutoSprink proficiency, BIM Navisworks coordination, and NICET level 3 in Water-Based System Layout (Texas) as a plus; a minimum of five years' design experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years fire protection design experience.
• BIM (Navisworks) experience required.
• Texas NICET Level 3 a plus.
• RME-G REQUIRED.
• Familiar with NFPA 13, 14, 20, 22 and FM Global Standards.
• Proficient with AutoCAD and third party software training.

Responsibilities

• Produce fire protection design drawings for permitting and construction.
• Perform hydraulic calculations as required.
• Coordinate with the Design Manager on drawing schedules.
• Review design documents before submittal for permit.
• Attend project meetings and site visits.
• Communicate design changes to field teams.
• Review submittals for size, quantity, and compatibility.
