Job summary

Civic Recruitment Limited seeks an experienced Fire Risk Assessor to join a local authority on a 2-month contract. You will carry out fire risk assessments across residential properties, including high-risk buildings, and provide practical safety advice to managers and staff.

With Level 5 Fire Safety qualifications and a strong grasp of current legislation, you will prepare comprehensive reports, support continuous improvement, and collaborate with multiple stakeholders to ensure regulatory

Qualifications

• Level 5 qualification in Fire Safety or Fire Safety Engineering.
• Graduate-level membership of a recognised fire or construction body.
• Comprehensive knowledge of fire safety legislation and guidance.
• Strong understanding of building construction methods and fire safety principles.
• Experience undertaking fire risk assessments in social housing.

Responsibilities

• Undertake fire risk assessments for complex and non-complex residential buildings.
• Identify fire hazards and evaluate risks, providing practical compliance recommendations.
• Provide competent fire safety advice to managers and housing teams.
• Produce detailed fire risk assessment reports and documentation.
• Monitor and review fire safety risks; coordinate remedial actions.
• Collaborate with internal/external stakeholders to manage fire risks.
• Support development and continuous improvement of fire safety management.
• Ensure compliance with Fire Safety Order 2005 and Health and Safety at Work Act 1974.
• Maintain records of fire risk assessments and inspections.
• Keep up to date with changes in fire safety legislation and guidance.
• Undertake any other duties as required.
