Ryan Specialty’s National Specialty Programs seeks a Fire Suppression Underwriter to evaluate and manage risks for fire protection contractors and related service providers. The role partners with brokers to deliver tailored solutions while maintaining portfolio profitability.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of commercial P&C underwriting experience.
• Experience underwriting fire suppression, sprinkler, alarm, and related fire protection classes.
• Experience with MGA/wholesale broker or specialty carrier preferred.
• Proven broker relationship management and portfolio growth track record.
• Knowledge of fire protection industry exposures and loss drivers.

Responsibilities

• Underwrite new and renewal property and casualty business per guidelines.
• Analyze submissions, loss runs, and financials to assess risk quality.
• Determine pricing, coverage, and terms per program guidelines.
• Manage an assigned book to achieve premium growth and profitability.
• Develop broker relationships and provide underwriting expertise throughout the process.
• Support strategy, forecasting, and process improvements.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Risk Management, Insurance, Business Administration, Finance, or related field

State Property & Casualty license and/or Surplus Lines license

CPCU, ARM, AU, CRIS or other insurance designations
