Job summary

Northstar Fire Protection is seeking a Fire Protection Plan Reviewer to review and approve fire protection design deliverables for code compliance and quality. The reviewer will assess sprinkler submittals, hydraulic calculations, field prints, and fabrication lists prior to submission and release.

The role requires strong knowledge of NFPA standards, 7+ years in fire sprinkler design, and proficiency with AutoCAD or similar tools.

Qualifications

• Associate or technical degree in fire protection or related field.
• 7+ years of fire sprinkler design experience required.
• Strong knowledge of NFPA codes and hydraulics.
• NICET Level III or IV preferred.
• Ability to review submittals, calculations, and fabrication lists.
• Excellent communication and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Review fire sprinkler submittals for accuracy and code compliance.
• Validate hydraulic calculations and system performance.
• Verify layouts, seismic bracing, and installation details.
• Review field prints for consistency with drawings and specs.
• Prepare comments and coordinate with designers to resolve issues.
• Maintain design review checklists and QA processes.
• Interpret drawings, AHJ requirements, and contract documents.
• Support project teams with code guidance and training.
