Job summary

Air Force Materiel Command at Robins AFB, GA seeks a Fire Protection Inspector (GS-0081-09) to serve as Fire Protection Specialist and technical authority for base construction and renovation projects.

Requires knowledge of fire protection engineering, building codes, and incident response; must meet TIG requirements; pre-employment physical and potential DoD firefighter certification may be required.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of fire protection engineering theory, philosophy, principles, practices.
• Knowledge of fire protection building construction features and fire protection building codes.
• Knowledge of fire suppression systems, fire detection, and reporting systems.
• Ability to maintain good working relations; communicate orally and in writing; and lift and carry heavy loads.
• Ability to develop lesson plans and to read complex construction drawings.

Responsibilities

• Serve as Fire Protection Specialist consultant at program management level for base construction projects.
• Act as single point of contact and technical authority for fire protection.
• Develop and implement fire protection training and ensure compliance with codes.
