Job summary

BB&E, a full-service civil and environmental engineering and consulting firm, seeks a Senior Fire Protection Engineer to provide design support for NAVFAC Mid-Atlantic at Norfolk Naval Station.

The role includes independent fire protection engineering, coordination with architecture and engineering disciplines, and work on life safety, fire protection systems, fire alarm, mass notification, and related design efforts.

Qualifications

• Registration as Professional Engineer (PE) in Fire Protection Engineering is required.
• ABET-accredited degree in Fire Protection Engineering or Mechanical Engineering; PE in Fire Protection if degree is mechanical.
• At least 10 years of professional fire protection engineering experience on facilities design for new construction and renovations.

Responsibilities

• Provide independent, timely and professional fire protection engineering support for Navy and other commands.
• Collaborate with other disciplines to ensure system coordination with project requirements.
• Deliver fire protection design services including life safety, fire protection systems, fire modeling, and related design analyses.
