Job summary

BB&E is seeking a Senior Fire Protection Engineer to provide design support for NAVFAC Mid-Atlantic projects at Norfolk Naval Station. The role focuses on fire protection systems design and coordination with multidisciplinary teams for Design-Bid-Build and Design-Build efforts.

The ideal candidate will hold a PE in Fire Protection, have ABET-accredited education, 10+ years of relevant experience, and deep knowledge of DoD/Navy standards, NFPA codes, and related software.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of professional fire protection engineering experience in facilities design
• ABET-accredited degree in fire protection engineering (or mechanical engineering with PE in Fire Protection)
• Knowledge of UFC, NFPA, IBC/IMC/IRC and Navy specifications

Responsibilities

• Provide fire protection engineering design and analysis for Navy facilities and MILCON projects
• Coordinate with multidiscipline teams to ensure system integration and compliance with DoD standards
• Prepare technical documentation, calculations and written findings for Navy reviews
