Job summary

EXP Services Inc. is seeking a Senior Fire Protection Engineer (FPE) to join our growing MEP/FP team in Coral Gables or Fort Lauderdale, FL. You will lead fire protection design across aviation, hospitality, commercial, healthcare, federal, and institutional projects, serving as Engineer of Record and mentoring staff.

Responsibilities include code compliance, life safety analyses, client coordination, and BD support. Florida-based engineers with PE preferred highly desirable.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Fire Protection Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum 8+ years of experience in fire protection engineering for building projects.
• Registered Professional Engineer (P.E.) is required, license in Fire Protection preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and engineering of fire protection systems (sprinklers, standpipes, pumps, special hazard systems, life safety).
• Coordinate with architects, structural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and civil disciplines.
• Prepare drawings, specifications, reports, and narratives; perform hydraulic calculations and code analyses.
• Mentor junior engineers and designers; support business development and client presentations.
• Serve as Engineer of Record and oversee QA/QC; manage multiple projects with schedule, budget, and quality objectives.
