Job summary

DLH Corp is seeking a Fire Protection Engineer to design and review fire protection systems across multiple facilities, with an emphasis on safety, compliance, and reliability. The role emphasizes minimal travel and a strong focus on project execution within healthcare and laboratory settings.

The candidate should hold a PE license, have 4+ years of relevant experience, and be able to obtain a Public Trust clearance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Fire Protection Engineering or related engineering field.
• 4+ years of Fire Protection experience.
• Professional Engineer (P.E.) license in Fire Protection.
• Experience in healthcare and/or laboratory environments with NFPA 30/45 familiarity.
• Valid Driver's License.
• Ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance.

Responsibilities

• Review architectural/engineering designs and fire protection system shop drawings for over 50 buildings.
• Conduct construction inspections and issue final occupancy permits.
• Witness acceptance tests for fire alarm and sprinkler system modifications.
• Evaluate existing building conditions through life safety and hazard analysis surveys.
• Provide technical guidance using various NFPA codes.

Basic Compensation: $135,000 - $140,000 yearly salary

The salary range listed reflects what we reasonably expect to pay for this role at the time of posting. The final offer may vary based on skills, experience, geographic location, market conditions, and internal equity. Additional compensation may include performance incentives and program-specific awards. We do not use salary history to determine compensation, in line with applicable law.
