Job Details

National A&E firm needs a Sr. Fire Protection Engineer, P.E for their Orlando, FL office.

Responsibilities/Skills

1. Perform engineering calculations and design systems in accordance with established policies, standards, procedures, and codes.
2. Apply practical knowledge and experience to resolve project-related problems.
3. Make independent decisions for engineering tasks on assigned projects.
4. Supervise subordinate personnel or assist other engineers/designers as needed.
5. Possess knowledge of discipline-specific codes and building codes.
6. Provide fire code consulting services, fire sprinkler design, fire alarm and detection system design, and smoke control system design.
7. Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
8. Meet with the Project Engineer and Project Manager to discuss design scope, schedule, budget, and site issues.
9. Prepare design budgets and schedules with the Project Manager and Project Engineer.
10. Implement system types as selected by the Project Engineer and provide complete construction documents.
11. Review engineering design with other disciplines for function, clearances, and coordination.
12. Perform a final review of engineering drawings.
13. Maintain client contact.

Qualifications

A Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Fire Protection, Structural or Architectural Engineering, minimum 8 years of work experience, and must be a licensed engineer.
