We are currently seeking a Senior Fire Protection Engineer for our client in the Engineering and Construction domain. Salary: $126,000-$150,000/Annually

Role Description: The Senior Fire Protection Engineer must have 4-8 years of experience. The candidate should be passionate about their craft, eager to work on a high-functioning team, and seeking an environment that promotes professional growth. Enthusiasm, a desire to grow with a multidisciplinary engineering team, and a fun attitude are valued.

You will provide clients with automatic suppression system design, fire detection, alarm and mass notification system design, life-safety code analysis, egress analysis, fire-resistant construction analysis, smoke control analysis, and special inspections, along with general fire protection and life safety concepts and research.

You may plan, schedule, conduct, or coordinate detailed phases of work as part of a major or moderate project scope. You may supervise or coordinate the work of other professionals assisting in specific assignments.

Note: * 70% travel including weekly trips to Guam and Japan!

Duties/Responsibilities

• Provide fire protection consulting engineering services to architects, developers, owners, government, and insurers.
• Consult on fire and life safety codes (ICC: IBC, IFC, IMC) and NFPA standards.
• Develop fire models, smoke control models/analysis, and pressurization models/analysis.
• Review and advise on life safety, building, and fire code compliance.
• Create fire safety strategies for special hazards.
• Deliver prescriptive and performance-based design strategies.
• Design fire alarm, detection, and suppression systems.
• Review, develop, and commission smoke control systems.
• Conduct site visits and coordinate with architects, contractors, and teams.
• Lead internal and external meetings, present design approaches to authorities.
• Collaborate across multiple offices and disciplines.
• Assist in managing CAD and Revit efforts.
• Work independently and supervise small teams.
• Manage multiple projects profitably.
• Maintain client relationships.
• Define problems, collect data, draw conclusions.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

• B.S. in Fire Protection Engineering, Fire Sciences from an accredited university.
• Professional experience in Fire Protection Engineering (consulting).
• EIT, NICET III, and PE certifications.
• Strong communication skills.

Additional Qualifications

• Experience with multidisciplinary teams.
• Proficiency in Bluebeam, AutoCAD, Revit, Microsoft Office.
• Experience with fire modeling software (CONTAM, Pathfinder, etc.).
• Project management experience.
