Job summary

Plan B Climatech, a multidiscipline engineering consultancy with offices across the US, is seeking a Senior Fire Protection Engineer to join its Dallas team.

You’ll lead analysis and design of fire protection systems, manage client relationships, coordinate with civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, and corrosion control disciplines, and guide project teams through code interpretation and documentation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited college or university.
• Fire Protection Engineering License by examination, issued by any US state
• 10+ years of experience in fire protection, ideally in consulting engineering and project management.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including oral presentation ability.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and design fire protection systems (suppression, detection, alarm, mass notification) for diverse projects.
• Perform building and fire code analysis and interpretation.
• Manage internal and external client relationships and project delivery.
• Provide peer review on colleagues' work product and document research for distribution.
• Represent the firm in SFPE and NFPA activities and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams.

A well-established, multidiscipline engineering consultancy — decades in business, hundreds of employees, offices across the US — is looking to add a Senior Fire Protection Engineer to its growing Dallas team. This role offers a senior seat within a firm-wide fire protection practice built up over the past decade, with real ownership of client relationships and technical direction rather than a stepping-stone position.

The Role

You'll perform analysis and design of fire protection systems — suppression, detection, alarm, and mass notification — across commercial, retail, institutional, government, and industrial projects. Building and fire code analysis and interpretation sits at the center of the role, alongside day-to‑day management of internal and external client relationships. You'll carry project management responsibility for both internal projects and external client work, produce research and technical documentation for internal and external distribution, provide peer review on colleagues' work product, and represent the firm through active participation in SFPE and NFPA. Expect close coordination with civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, and corrosion control disciplines on every project — this is a genuinely multidiscipline environment, not a fire‑only silo.

What You’ll Bring

• Bachelor's degree (B.S.) in engineering from an accredited college or university
• Fire Protection Engineering License by examination, issued by any state in the United States
• 10+ years of experience in the fire protection profession, ideally in consulting engineering and project management
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including oral presentation ability
• Comfort operating independently while contributing to a high-functioning team
• Willingness to travel (~20%)
