Job summary

BR+A Consulting Engineers in Boston seeks an experienced Senior Fire Protection Engineer. Ideal candidate has 10–20 years of experience, engineering degree, PE license, and strong design, coordination, and field verification skills.

You will design fire protection systems for healthcare, higher education, and laboratory projects, prepare hydraulic calculations, write specifications, and coordinate with disciplines to deliver projects on schedule and within budget.

Qualifications

• Develop hydraulic calculations for sprinklers and standpipes using software.
• Prepare specifications and manage design delivery within hours and budgets.

• Oversee deliverables and maintain professional initiative and organization.

BR+A Is Seeking An Experienced Senior Fire Protection Engineer In Our Boston Office. The Ideal Candidate Will Have 10-20 Years Of Experience, An Engineering Degree, Be a Registered Professional Engineer, And Possess The Following Abilities

• Experience designing Fire Protection systems for Healthcare, Higher Education, and Laboratory projects
• Proficient in AutoCAD and Revit
• Experience in specification writing
• Perform field verification and take-offs of existing systems for renovation projects
• Coordinate with other disciplines
• Develop Hydraulic calculations for sprinklers and standpipes using computer programs
• Thorough knowledge of NFPA Codes
• Basic knowledge of Fire Protection systems including wet, dry and specialty systems
• Understands work planning and manages the design process to the available hours in the work plan
• Meets with clients and work with contractors
• Oversees deliverables to and from clients
• Excellent organizational and communication skills
• Strongly motivated, well organized, shows professional initiative
• Takes ownership of assignments, works both independently and as part of the project team
