Job summary

EFI Global is seeking a senior Fire Investigator to conduct extensive origin-and-cause investigations on fires in commercial and residential structures. You will lead evidence collection, analyze records, and prepare expert reports for depositions and trials.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree, five years of fire investigation experience, and certification such as IAAI-CFI or CFEI. Strong communication, ethics, and collaboration with agencies are essential to success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university preferred.
• IAAI Certified Fire Investigator (IAAI-CFI) certification.
• Certified Fire & Explosion Investigator (CFEI) certification.
• Five (5) years of fire investigation experience or equivalent combination of education and experience required.

Responsibilities

• Investigates assigned claims suspected of insurance fraud, including large-loss and multi-claim scenarios.
• Manages case files confidentially and documents findings in claims systems.
• Provides expert testimony and clear deposition reports on origin-and-cause determinations.
• Maintains communication with leadership and customers to improve results.
• Develops rapport with government agencies and information bureaus to aid investigations.
• Interviews witnesses and individuals for information, determining negligence and legal violations.
