Job summary

Cundall in Warsaw seeks an experienced Intermediate/Senior Fire & Hydraulics Engineer to lead hydraulic and fire protection design for new and existing buildings, coordinating with other engineers and liaising with authorities.

The role emphasizes innovative design processes, client engagement, and project leadership, with expectations for managing timelines and developing business opportunities. Polish language skills and a work permit for Poland are required.

Qualifications

• Degree-level engineering with hydraulics and fire protection experience across infrastructure, commercial, education, retail, industrial and critical systems.
• Familiarity with fixed water-based fire suppression design standards (NFPA, FM Global, and other standards).
• Knowledge of facilities management operations, maintenance procedures, local authority requirements, and infrastructure requirements (local experience essential).
• Experience or understanding of REVIT/BIM delivery.
• Excellent communication and project management skills.
• Experience in designing other fire protection systems (gas suppression, water mist) is advantageous.
• Basic Polish language.
• Valid work permit to work in Poland.

Responsibilities

• Apply innovative design processes, liaise with authorities, and coordinate hydraulics services design with other disciplines; produce reports for clients and stay updated with technologies.
• Monitor timeframes for project tasks and motivate junior engineers.

Job description

The Role

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced, passionate and client-focused Intermediate/Senior Fire & Hydraulics Engineer (Fire Protection experience will be highly regarded) to join our Building Services team at our office in Warsaw, to play a leading role in ensuring the successful management and design/delivery of hydraulic and fire protection services for new and existing buildings.

Additionally, the role involves applying innovative design processes, liaison with authorities, coordinating hydraulics services design with the other engineering disciplines, producing reports for the client and staying up to date with latest technologies and relevant industry requirements.

Experience with business development, client engagement and project management / leadership is desirable.

You will actively monitor the time frame for works to be completed and will use your wealth of expertise and determination to manage, motivate and inspire less experienced engineers.

The Skills

• Educated to degree level in Engineering with sound knowledge in hydraulics and fire protection systems and experience in a variety of sectors such as infrastructure, commercial, education, retail, industrial and critical systems.
• Familiarity with the design and installation standards for fixed water‑based fire suppression systems, including NFPA, FM Global, and other relevant standards.
• Knowledge in facilities management operations, maintenance procedures, local authority requirements, and infrastructure requirements (local experience is essential).
• Prior experience or understanding of REVIT/BIM delivery.
• Given the collaborative and client‑focused nature of this role, excellent communication and project management skills are essential.
• Experience in the design of other fire protection systems, such as fixed gaseous fire suppression systems and water mist systems, will be considered an advantage.
• Minimum basic level of Polish language.
• Valid work permit to work in Poland.
