Qualifications

• Knowledge of fire service operations, prevention, and emergency response.
• Supervision, planning, evaluation, and staff training practices.
• Administration of Fire Department operations and coordination with agencies.
• Modern firefighting methods, inspection, and prevention techniques.
• Laws, codes, and coordination with firefighting agencies.

Responsibilities

• Respond to emergencies, deploy personnel and equipment, and assume command when needed.
• Prepare reports on emergency calls, fire protection services, and department operations.
• Assist in planning and budgeting and propose improvements.
• Plan, coordinate and implement training programs for Fire Department staff.
• Administer operations of fire suppression personnel and fire stations on a shift.
• Monitor, supervise, and evaluate personnel; provide mentoring and development.
• Ensure goals, policies, and work standards are implemented.
• Serve as Shift Commander and coordinate emergency and non-emergency calls.
• Handle grievances and maintain discipline and professional conduct.
• Represent the city at meetings and coordinate with other agencies.
