Job summary

Fortis Fire & Safety is seeking skilled Fire Alarm Technicians to install, inspect, test, troubleshoot, and service fire alarm and life safety systems on a large-scale national program. This role requires dedication, the ability to mobilize quickly, and substantial driving within Florida.

Expect fast-paced, high-demand work with strong team support and advancement opportunities. Travel within Florida may be required; not a non-stop onsite role but steady site work with a major client.

Qualifications

• Must have proven hands-on experience as a Fire Alarm Technician (not entry-level).
• Knowledge of NFPA 72 and Florida fire/life safety codes.
• Experience with major fire alarm platforms (Notifier/Silent Knight/EST/Fire-Lite).
• State of Florida licensure/certification or ability to obtain.
• Ability to read technical drawings and specifications.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Install, program, inspect, test, and maintain fire alarm systems per NFPA 72 and codes.
• Troubleshoot and repair system deficiencies (panels, initiating devices, notification appliances).
• Perform scheduled inspections and functional testing with accurate documentation.
• Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and specs.
• Coordinate with project managers, general contractors, AHJs as needed.
• Maintain service records and compliance documentation.
• Travel to job sites across assigned areas; meet project timelines.
