Job summary

Fortis Fire & Safety is seeking skilled Fire Alarm Technicians to install, inspect, test, troubleshoot, and service fire alarm and life safety systems on a high-profile, large-scale program. This role may require travel within Florida and extended hours to meet demanding timelines.

Qualifications

• Must have hands-on experience as a Fire Alarm Technician (not entry-level).
• Working knowledge of NFPA 72 and Florida life-safety codes.
• Experience with major fire alarm platforms (Notifier, Silent Knight, EST, Fire-Lite or similar).
• State licensure or ability to obtain Florida licensure.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record; ability to travel.
• Willingness to work extended hours as project demands require.

Responsibilities

• Install, program, inspect, test, and maintain fire alarm systems per NFPA 72 and codes.
• Troubleshoot and repair system deficiencies, including panels and devices.
• Perform scheduled inspections and functional testing with accurate documentation.
• Read blueprints and wiring diagrams and interpret specifications.
• Coordinate with project managers, general contractors, and AHJs as needed.
• Maintain service records and compliance documentation.
• Ensure all work meets quality and safety standards.
• Travel to job sites across assigned areas as required.
