Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a skilled Fire Alarm Technician to install, program, and service Fire Alarm systems at customer sites. The role requires diagnosing issues and performing preventative maintenance under service and maintenance contracts.

You will lead installation projects, manage project budgets, and coordinate with customers to integrate related building systems. Travel to customer locations in Florida and Georgia is a regular part of the job.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a related position/field.
  • NICET II certification or higher preferred.
  • Electrical background and knowledge of electronic equipment.
  • Low voltage background including relays, loops, and inputs/outputs.
  • Ability to read schematics and understand relay logic.
  • Experience with Fire Alarm Systems and test equipment.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Install, program and service Fire Alarm systems at customer sites.
  • Serve as the point of contact for system service.
  • Lead installation projects and manage project budgets.
  • Direct service and installation crews.
  • Collaborate with customers on integrating related building systems.
  • Diagnose and repair systems on-site efficiently.
  • Perform preventative maintenance under service contracts.
  • Troubleshoot issues remotely using provided software.
  • Travel to customer locations regularly in Florida and Georgia.
  • Research and resolve equipment issues independently.
  • Perform special projects and other duties as assigned.
  • Assist with other technical support tasks as needed.

Job description

  • Responsible for installing, programming and servicing Fire Alarm systems
  • Point of contact for service of the systems
  • Managing installation projects and project budgets
  • Leading service and installation project crews
  • Working with customers on the integration of other related building systems
  • Diagnose and repair systems at the customers location in an efficient and timely manner
  • Performs preventative maintenance as required by service and maintenance contract.
  • Troubleshoots issues remotely utilizing provided software and an internet connection.
  • Travels to customer locations through Florida and Georgia on a continuous day to day basis.
  • Works independently to research and resolve issues with equipment
  • Performs special projects and other duties assigned
  • Assists with other technical support issues, as needed
Requirements
  • Mandatory Hiring Requirements: References, Background Check, Drug Screen Testing, Valid Driver’s License.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a related position/field
  • NICET II certification or higher preferred.
  • Electrical background and knowledge of Electronic Equipment.
  • Low voltage background to include relays, loops, and inputs/outputs.
  • Knowledge of Fire Alarm Systems and test equipment.
  • Strong Communication Skills
  • PC skills including knowledge of Microsoft Office, Command Prompt and the capacity to learn manufacturer specific software.
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to read schematics and possess an understanding of relay logic.
  • Edwards Life Safety Equipment knowledge preferred.
  • Strong Customer Service Skills with a Positive Attitude.
  • Experience in reading blueprints and operational materials.
