Job summary

Ace Technologies, LLC is seeking a Senior Fire Alarm Technician to install, program, and service fire alarm systems. You will lead customer interactions, manage installation projects, and coordinate related building-system integrations on-site across Georgia and Florida.

The ideal candidate has five+ years of experience, NICET II or higher preferred, a valid driver's license, and strong diagnostic, communication, and blueprints-reading skills. Travel and flexible hours required.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and repair physical security systems at the customer location efficiently and timely, restoring full functionality.
  • Perform preventative maintenance as required by service and maintenance contracts.
  • Troubleshoot issues remotely using provided software and an internet connection.
  • Travel to customer locations throughout Florida and Georgia on a day-to-day basis.
  • Work independently to research and resolve equipment issues.
  • Serve as an on-call technician in a rotating schedule with other technicians.
  • Complete special projects and other duties assigned.
  • Assist with other technical support issues as needed.

Job description

Senior Fire Alarm Technician

Responsible for installing, programming, and servicing Fire Alarm systems; serves as the point of contact for service, manages installation projects and budgets, leads crews, and works with customers to integrate related building systems.

Preferred Job Skills
  • Electrical background and knowledge of electronic equipment.
  • Low‑voltage background including relays, loops, and inputs/outputs.
  • Knowledge of fire alarm systems and test equipment.
  • Ability to diagnose and repair systems at the customer’s location efficiently and timely.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • PC skills, including Microsoft Office, Command Prompt, and capacity to learn manufacturer‑specific software.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to read schematics and understand relay logic.
  • Willingness to travel to project locations.
  • Knowledge of Edwards Life Safety equipment preferred.
  • Strong customer service skills with a positive attitude.
  • Experience in reading blueprints and operational materials.

Position Requirements
  • Valid state driver’s license.
  • Post‑secondary certificate preferred.
  • Minimum five years of experience in a related position or field.
  • NICET II certification or higher preferred.
Working Conditions
  • Work in various weather elements: heat, cold, rain, or snow.
  • Work in all commercial facility types, including hospitals, schools, universities, industrial sites, military bases, prisons, detention centers, and manufacturing facilities.
  • Utilize construction site sanitary facilities (Porta‑Johns).
  • Maintain personal tools at all times.
  • Operate ladders and move/relocate ladders independently.
  • Carry personal weight with tools within ladder weight limits.
  • Work at heights up to 90 feet on ladders, scaffolds, aerial work platforms, catwalks, and other safe work areas.
  • Work in restricted or confined spaces such as network closets and crawl spaces.
  • Wear all required personal protective equipment.
  • Work a minimum of 40 hours per week plus overtime as required; night shifts, weekends, and out‑of‑town travel may be required.
Required Physical/Mental Functions
  • Comprehension of construction drawings, schematics, and specifications.
  • Safe use of required power tools.
  • Practice and adhere to safe work procedures outlined in the Company Safety Handbook.
  • Operate two‑handed tools as required: cable cutters, hammer drills, compression tools, etc.
  • Read and interpret maps, manuals, site directions, and written instructions.
  • Good hearing and vision (corrected if necessary).
  • Ability to bend, stoop, squat, crawl, climb, kneel, balance, push, pull, and reach overhead.
  • Lift objects up to 50 pounds; frequent lifting of up to 20 pounds.
  • Tolerate prolonged standing and foot movement.
  • Climb ladders of all types.
  • Repetitive use of arms, hands, and fingers; over‑head work for full day assignments.
