Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking a skilled Fire Alarm Systems Technician to install, program, troubleshoot, configure, and service fire alarm and related building systems at customer sites.

The role includes reading blueprints, testing equipment, panel repair, and ensuring safety and compliance. Lifting up to 70 lbs, flexible hours (including weekends), and possible overnight travel are required.

Qualifications

• At least 5 years of documented experience in low voltage electrical systems, including Fire/Life Safety Systems.
• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience reading and interpreting blueprints, submittals, and manuals.
• Experience with test equipment and commissioning devices.
• Capable of lifting 50-70 lbs.
• Flexible hours including weekends; overnight travel may be required.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
• Pass pre-employment background and drug test.
• Ability to obtain required licenses per codes.
• Basic understanding of Network concepts and architectures.

Responsibilities

• Install, program, troubleshoot, configure, and service Fire Alarm Systems at customer sites.
• Panel repair/reprogram and device replacement/repair; resolve low voltage issues.
• Organize resources to assure efficient task execution.
• Program fire alarm, security, and access control panels; focus on networked systems.
• Respond to service calls promptly and perform repairs as needed.
• Read blueprints, diagrams, specs, and manuals; supervise installation to meet specs.
• Complete required certification courses and all related documentation.
