Job Summary

The Senior Fire Alarm Designer will work on large residential and multifamily projects, preparing accurate, code-compliant fire alarm designs while coordinating with internal teams and project stakeholders. Key Responsibilities

• Prepare fire alarm system design drawings, layouts, construction plans, and related project documentation.
• Review fire alarm designs for accuracy, completeness, code compliance, and alignment with project requirements.
• Apply NFPA 72, local fire codes, electrical requirements, and company design standards to system designs.
• Coordinate fire alarm design requirements with internal departments, project teams, and other building systems.
• Mentor junior design personnel and help establish consistent design processes, templates, and workflows.
• Support projects involving large residential, multifamily, BDA, two-way communication, sprinkler, access control, and security systems as applicable.

Compensation and Benefits

• Salary: $80,000 to $135,000 per year, depending on experience and certification.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Prepare and develop fire alarm system designs for commercial, residential, and multifamily construction projects.
• Review drawings, calculations, and design deliverables for quality, accuracy, and code compliance.
• Coordinate fire alarm design requirements with internal teams, project stakeholders, and related building systems.
• Support department growth through mentoring, process improvement, and technical leadership.
• Approximately 5 to 6 or more years of relevant fire alarm design experience, with greater experience expected for candidates pursuing immediate management responsibilities.
• Strong understanding of fire alarm system design principles, NFPA 72, local fire codes, and applicable electrical requirements.
• Experience preparing fire alarm drawings using AutoCAD or comparable design tools.
• Ability to perform or coordinate design calculations using Excel and related tools.
• Ability to interpret construction documents, project specifications, and code requirements.
• Strong technical problem-solving, organization, communication, and project coordination skills.
• Willingness to relocate to Las Vegas, Nevada and work full-time on-site.

Preferred Qualifications

• NICET Level II, III, or IV certification, with Level III or IV strongly preferred.
• Previous experience as a Lead Fire Alarm Designer, Senior Designer, Design Manager, or similar technical leader.
• Experience mentoring, training, or supervising junior designers.
• Experience with large residential and multifamily fire alarm design projects.
• Familiarity with BDA and two-way communication systems.
• Experience coordinating fire alarm systems with sprinkler, access control, security, and other building systems.
• Experience improving design processes, project scheduling, departmental workflows, and design standards.
