Job summary

Bosch Building Technologies North America is seeking a Senior Fire Alarm Designer Specialist to lead design and coordination of complex fire alarm and life safety projects in commercial environments. You will oversee all design phases, ensure code compliance, and guide field teams and AHJs through project execution.

You’ll mentor designers, coordinate with building disciplines, and develop comprehensive CAD packages, riser diagrams, and BOMs to support successful installations and commissioning.

Qualifications

• Minimum 8 years of experience in fire alarm system design and life safety systems.
• Advanced proficiency with AutoCAD including XREFs, blocks, layers, plotting, and page setups.
• Strong knowledge of NFPA 72, NFPA 70 (NEC), and fire/life safety standards.
• Ability to read architectural, mechanical, electrical, structural drawings and specifications.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and development of complex fire alarm and life safety system projects.
• Coordinate designs with architecture, MEP, structural, and low-voltage teams.
• Develop CAD-based design packages including floor plans, riser diagrams, BOMs, and sequences of operation.
• Review scope and design criteria to ensure alignment with customer requirements and codes.
• Provide technical leadership on system architecture and integrations with other building systems.
• Mentor junior designers and drive design consistency across projects.
