Position Overview

Senior FIPS 140 Security Engineer
Location: Columbia, MD or 100% Remote
You will have an exciting opportunity to work in the growing IT Security field supporting National defense. The products you develop will be deployed into larger systems to facilitate secure communications for our military, especially in the modern cyber warfare environment. Qualifications

You Will Bring:

• Knowledge of FIPS 140 requirements
• Understanding of cryptographic algorithms, key exchange, hashing, PKI, random number generators, etc.
• Experience with programming languages like C, C++, Python, or Java.
• Ability to interpret security standards and apply them to products.
• Knowledge of security protocols such as SSH, IPsec, TLS.
• Experience in building testing environments and reporting results (technical writing).
• CVP Certified Tester.
• Strong problem-solving skills and multitasking ability.

Preferred Additional Qualifications

• Experience with VHDL, Verilog, debugging tools, entropy analysis, OpenSSL/OpenPGP, vulnerability assessment, and network setup.

Education & Experience

BS degree with 4-8 years of relevant experience.

Position Details

• Salary Range: $68.95 - $73.95 per hour

Final salary depends on experience, skills, location, and market conditions.
