Description

Sprout Social is looking to hire a Senior Financial Systems Analyst for the IT team.

Why join Sprout’s IT team?

Sprout’s Corporate IT team is a combination of adjacent squads working on projects under one umbrella. This unique structure is an exciting opportunity to grow your career in technology with exposure to projects all across our discipline—something you don’t see often in other organizations. It allows us to move quickly and collaborate with minimal friction or red tape. As a part of this team, you’re also given the space and encouraged to stretch beyond your core function and make a deeper impact on the broader organization. In short, the work you do here matters and you’ll feel that day in and day out.

What you’ll do

  • Bridge the gap between Corporate IT, Accounting, Revenue, Billing and Finance teams, focusing on maximizing the efficiency and effectiveness of our product-related processes within the NetSuite and Coupa ecosystem
  • Ensure our tools and integrations between financial systems are configured, managed, and running efficiently.
  • Be a dedicated partner for our Finance team with a focus on scalability and collaboration with the larger Corporate IT team
  • Serve as the SME for the tools and processes under your umbrella and make sure tools and processes are scalable, pristine, and well-documented for your teammates.
  • Lift the skills of others around you through mentorship, knowledge sharing, and providing feedback
  • Leverage your understanding of the larger field to confidently make decisions and execute, and build the right functionality in the right order
  • Improvise and develop creative and collaborative solutions when common approaches fail.

What you’ll bring

We are looking for a highly analytical, diligent, and naturally curious Senior Financial Systems Analyst with experience overseeing Financial tooling and an expert on the NetSuite platform. If you’re a self-starter who enjoys tackling complex problems while working on a small, fast-paced team, we’d love to talk to you!

The minimum qualifications for this role include:

  • 5 years of progressive experience in financial systems analysis, with a strong focus on NetSuite administration and configuration while adhering to SOX compliant change management
  • Deep understanding of core accounting and finance principles and processes (e.g., General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Fixed Assets, Order Management).
  • Proven ability to configure and customize NetSuite modules, including but not limited to Financials, Advanced Revenue Management, Multi-Subsidiary, and Reporting.
  • Experience developing complex saved searches, reports, and dashboards in NetSuite.

Preferred qualifications for this role include:

  • Experience managing small-sized projects independently
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills, with the ability to effectively interact with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • A clear understanding of the security, scalability, maintainability, and training required of our financial software
  • Hands-on experience with our existing software specifically, Coupa, Salesforce Billing, Recurly, CloudPay, Workday or Docusign
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Experience with data integration tools and methodologies is a plus.
  • NetSuite certifications (e.g., NetSuite Administrator, NetSuite Financial User) Experience with scripting languages (e.g., SuiteScript)

How you’ll grow

Within 1 month, you’ll plant your roots, including:

  • Complete Sprout’s New Hire training program alongside other new Sprout team members. You’ll gain a broader understanding of our product and how your role fits into the organization.
  • Complete introductory training with the Accounting, Billing and Finance teams to begin understanding our current processes and pain points
  • Partner with the Manager of Business Systems to set initial priorities and align on expectations for your role.
  • Start building relationships with engineers in your product team (we call them “squads”) and across the broader CorpIT team.
  • Start building relationships with key stakeholders on internal business teams. Including Financial Planning and Analysis, Billing, Accounting Revenue and Accounting SG&A, Accounts Payable, and more.
  • Try using the Sprout product yourself—to see it the way a customer does.

Within 3 months, you’ll start hitting your stride by:

  • Work with your manager and teammates to create and prioritize tasks/projects.
  • Begin updating, refining, and improving, documentation and processes.
  • Work with requesters and stakeholders to produce detailed and effective change requests.
  • Build connections with members from other teams through active networking and community building.
  • Begin mentoring junior team members and cross-training other senior members of the team
  • Review incoming requests and steering solutions to align with our overall architectural and business goals.
  • Begin making recommendations and implementing automation to reduce redundant tasks
  • Continue to support internal and external audits by gathering evidence and updating/improving documentation
  • Work with your team to create and prioritize tasks/projects to meet our existing needs/commitments.
  • Begin updating, refining, and improving, documentation and processes.
  • Build connections with members from other teams through active networking and community building.

Within 6 months, you’ll be making a clear impact through:

  • Become an expert on our internal processes and begin delivering larger change and feature requests to make our teams more efficient.
  • Participate in the creation and prioritization of quarterly goals.
  • Fully own larger initiatives from scoping through delivery.
  • Work and effectively communicate with other groups across the organization to ensure big-picture alignment and cross-team collaboration.
  • Form a career growth plan with your manager and work towards it. (may involve certification, conference, or other continuing education)
  • Begin to coordinate work with other upstream and downstream teams
  • Ensure processes are well documented and preventative maintenance/measures are designed and implemented
  • Become a consultation point for all complex process issues that may arise with or related to our finance tech stack
  • Train fellow team members and share knowledge with stakeholders and end-users

Within 12 months, you’ll make this role your own by:

  • Be a go-to expert on our finance tooling and the inbound and outbound integrations
  • Be effectively delivering solutions to ensure our systems and tooling stays ahead of and empower our companies growth
  • Continuously improve and maintain the various processes, adapting to changing requirements and ensuring accurate documentation
  • Efficiently deliver day-to-day, with very little support.
  • Identify, advocate and effectively contribute to larger change and feature requests.
  • Participate in cross-organizational projects, demonstrating project management skills, consensus building, and strong leadership.
  • Surprise us! Use your unique ideas and abilities to change Sprout in beneficial ways that we haven’t even considered yet.

Of course, what is outlined above is the ideal timeline, but things may shift based on business needs and other projects and tasks could be added at the discretion of your manager.

Our Benefits Program

We’re proud to regularly be recognized for our team, product and culture. Our benefits program includes:

  • Insurance and benefit options that are built for both individuals and families
  • Progressive policies to support work/life balance, like our flexible paid time off and parental leave program
  • High-quality and well-maintained equipment—your computer will never prevent you from doing your best

  • Growing corporate social responsibility program that is driven by the involvement and passion of our team members
  • Beautiful, convenient, and state-of-the-art offices in Chicago’s Loop and downtown Seattle, for those who prefer an office setting

Whenever possible, Sprout wants to provide our team with the flexibility to work in the location that makes the most sense for them. Sprout maintains a remote workforce in many places in the United States. However, we are not set up in all states, so please look at the drop-down box in our application to see whether your state is listed. Few roles require an office setting. If your position requires a physical presence in a Sprout office, it will be evident in the job listing and your offer letter.

Individual base pay is based on various factors, including work location, relevant experience and skills, the responsibility of the role, and job duties/requirements. In the United States, we have two geographic pay zones. For this role, our current base pay ranges for new hires are:

  • Zone 1 (New York, California, Washington): $103,840 (min), $129,800 (mid), $155,760 (max) USD annually
  • Zone 2 (All other US states): $94,400 (min), $118,000 (mid), $141,600 (max) USD annually

The listed ranges represent the full earning potential in this position. Starting salaries for well-qualified new hires are typically around the midpoint of the range. These ranges were determined by a market-based compensation approach; we used data from trusted third-party compensation sources to set equitable, consistent, and competitive ranges. We also evaluate compensation bi-annually, identify any changes in the market and make adjustments to our ranges and existing employee compensation as needed.

Base pay is only one element of an employee's total compensation at Sprout. Every Sprout team member has an opportunity to receive restricted stock units (RSUs) under Sprout’s equity plan. Employees (and their dependents) are covered by medical, dental, vision, basic life, accidental death, and dismemberment insurance, and Modern Health (a wellness benefit). Employees are able to enroll in Sprout’s company’s 401k plan, in which Sprout will match 50% of your contributions up to 6% with a maximum contribution. Sprout offers “Flexible Paid Time Off” and ten paid holidays. We have outlined the various components to an employee’s full compensation package here to help you to understand our total rewards package.
