Job summary

NorthPoint Search Group is seeking a Senior Financial Systems Analyst to own the accuracy of sales transaction data across Finance and Sales. You will partner with FP&A to establish controls and reconciliation routines ensuring data moves correctly from transaction systems into BI and financial reporting.

This role sits at the intersection of finance and IT, guiding data integrity during ERP migrations, new integrations, and future data warehouse initiatives to support timely, reliable reporting

Qualifications

• Strong Excel and/or Google Sheets skills with the ability to perform detailed reconciliations across multiple data sources.
• Basic SQL knowledge is helpful but not required.
• Strong financial and business judgment with an ability to recognize unusual or potentially inaccurate results.
• Ability to review system and integration logs, investigate errors, and clearly communicate technical issues to the appropriate teams.
• Working knowledge of revenue recognition and an understanding of how transactional activity ultimately impacts financial reporting.
• Exceptional attention to detail and comfort performing recurring, transaction-level validation work.
• Strong follow-through with the confidence to elevate issues and maintain ownership until they are resolved.
• Ability to work effectively between Finance and technical teams, translating business requirements and data issues across both groups.

Senior Financial Systems Analyst

As a Senior Financial Systems Analyst, you will take ownership of the accuracy and completeness of sales transaction data used across Finance and Sales. Working within FP&A and reporting to the Director of FP&A, you’ll establish consistent controls and reconciliation routines that verify data is moving accurately from transaction platforms into business intelligence and financial reporting systems.

This role is equal parts financial detective and process owner. You’ll monitor data movement, identify discrepancies quickly, determine where breakdowns are occurring, and partner with IT to make sure issues are addressed through resolution. Your work will give Finance and business leaders greater confidence that the information behind their reporting is complete, timely, and reliable.

The position is especially important as the organization continues modernizing its technology environment. With system migrations, new integrations, automation initiatives, and a future data warehouse on the roadmap, you’ll help establish the controls and operating discipline needed to maintain reliable financial data as the business scales.

Responsibilities

Data Integrity & Reconciliation

• Develop and maintain daily, weekly, and monthly reconciliation procedures across transaction, payment, and reporting systems.

• Compare transaction volumes and dollar values between source platforms and the BI environment, investigating discrepancies as they occur.

• Review integration activity and system logs to identify failed, incomplete, or unexpected data transfers before they impact financial reporting.

• Perform recurring transaction-level testing to verify information remains consistent as it moves from originating systems through reporting platforms.

• Reconcile transactions through the full financial lifecycle, including source activity, payment processing, and cash collection.

• Complete comprehensive transaction reconciliations in advance of the monthly financial close.

Issue Investigation & Resolution

• Investigate data discrepancies to determine underlying causes rather than simply correcting individual exceptions.

• Document issues with enough detail for technical teams to quickly understand the affected system, record, field, and business impact.

• Partner with IT and appropriate system owners to prioritize problems and drive open items through resolution.

• Follow up on recurring issues to ensure appropriate preventative measures are put in place.

• Maintain clear documentation of outstanding issues, ownership, status, and resolution.

• Establish a consistent working cadence with IT to review critical issues, recurring problems, system changes, and upcoming technology initiatives.

• Help ensure Finance has appropriate visibility into planned migrations, integrations, and system changes that could affect financial data.

Financial Systems & FP&A Support

• Represent Finance on systems, data, integration, and automation projects.

• Provide a financial and business perspective when defining requirements and testing new systems or integrations.

• Participate in initiatives involving ERP integrations, BI/reporting platforms, finance automation, and future data infrastructure.

• Assist the Finance team with data-related issues identified during monthly close.

• Monitor the overall health and reliability of financial data flows and provide concise updates to Finance leadership.

• Clearly communicate reconciliation results, unresolved risks, system issues, and migration progress to FP&A leadership and other stakeholders.

• Help refine controls and reconciliation procedures as systems and data architecture evolve.
