Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in GAAP, statutory accounting, and Oracle Ledger.
• CPA preferred but not required.
• Bachelor's degree in accounting or economics, or equivalent work experience.
• Experience with statutory and GAAP accounting.
• Detail-oriented with ability to manage multiple tasks.

Responsibilities

• Prepare journal entries and supporting schedules for monthly/quarterly close.
• Reconcile key accounts and analyze financial data for Group Profit Center.
• Prepare Board and Audit Committee materials with analytical variance research.
• Act as SME for Oracle maintenance and related modules.
• Create ad hoc reports and analyses for management.
• Identify and implement process improvements in reporting controls.

If so, Guardian is seeking a motivated individual to join our team as a Senior Financial Statutory Accountant.This role will support the Statutory and GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) Insurance Accounting and Financial Reporting functions of the Group Profit Center. In this position, you will support a combination of statutory and GAAP subsidiaries while preparing Regulatory and Audited Financial Statements along with related supporting documentation and workpapers for the internal and external auditors and assisting in the completion of audits as required.In addition, you will prepare Board Reports, including Board and Audit Committee material by conducting analytical research and documentation on account variance. You should be an Oracle Super User and the primary go to person in the Dept for questions maintenance related to Oracle and related modules.To be successful in this position, you should possess a detail-oriented mindset to ensure accuracy of data contained in general ledger, account reconciliations and workpapers that support financial statements. Developing strong computer skills especially in the use of MS Excel, Oracle Ledger and SmartView reporting.**You will*** Prepare journal entries and supporting schedules.* Reconcile key accounts and analysis of financial data included in the development of Group Profit Center monthly and quarterly financial statements.* Prepare Board and Audit Committee material including analytical research and documentation on account variance.* Act as SME for questions maintenance related to Oracle and related modules.* Add Ad Hoc Reports and Analysis for Management Analysis and Reporting.* Identify, communicate, and implement process improvement projects to enhance accounting and reporting controls and provide efficiencies in the financial reporting process.**You have*** 3+ years of related experience (GAAP, Statutory, and Oracle Ledger).* CPA preferred but not required.* Regulatory, public accounting a plus. * Understanding of Statutory and / or GAAP accounting.* Bachelor's degree in accounting, economics preferred or equivalent work experience.* Demonstrated experience prioritizing work to perform and complete multiple tasks and projects within specific deliverable periods.* Detail-oriented mindset to ensure accuracy of data contained in general ledger, account reconciliations and workpapers that support financial statements.* Experience with MS Excel, Oracle Ledger and SmartView reporting.**Location*** Hybrid - 3 days in office located in Hudson Yards, NYC, or Holmdel NJ. 2 days WFH.**Salary Range:**$82,770.00 - $135,975.00
