Job summary

Northmarq's Finance & Accounting team in Bloomington, MN seeks a Senior Financial Reporting Analyst to oversee monthly financial statements and comprehensive reporting. The role requires advanced Excel skills, GAAP knowledge, and a drive for process improvement using technology and data analytics.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's in Finance or Accounting, 3+ years of experience, and familiarity with multi-entity reporting.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or related field.
3+ years of relevant accounting/finance experience.
Understanding of commercial real estate and mortgage banking preferred.
Strong working knowledge of U.S. GAAP.
Experience in multi-entity environment with intercompany accounting, consolidations, and entity-level financial reporting.
CPA preferred.

Responsibilities

Lead preparation of financial reports, including monthly statements and management/external reporting.
Prepare internal reporting packages with analyses and commentary.
Develop and enhance Excel-based reporting, reconciliations, and tools.
Identify opportunities to streamline and automate accounting processes with technology and data analytics.
Assist in preparing audits and annual financial statements.
Prepare month-end schedules and post journal entries.
Review and approve schedules and reconciliations; drive process improvement.
Assist with tax support schedules.
Partner with other departments on financial reporting matters.
Support strategic initiatives and new accounting standards.
Pursue continuous learning and process improvements.
