Securian Financial in Saint Paul, MN is seeking a Senior Accountant to join the Institutional Retirement Solutions finance team. You will manage quarterly financial statements, prepare or review journal entries, and support audits and reporting for GAAP and statutory statements.

The role involves designing accounting for new products, collaborating with accounting policy, and driving process improvements while working in a hybrid setup with both home and office presence.

Formación

• Accounting experience with GAAP, statutory, management-based, and tax for financial reporting and budgeting.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Math, or related field or equivalent experience.
• Knowledge of insurance accounting concepts and products.
• Demonstrated initiative to serve as a resource for team members and independently manage projects.
• Written and verbal communication skills to provide superior customer service.

Responsabilidades

• Manages the quarterly financial statements and reporting processes and ensures timely and accurate processing.
• Prepares or reviews journal entries and ensures the accuracy of accounting transactions, including monthly reconciliations.
• Leads development of accounting samples and ERP system testing to support new product offerings or reinsurance transactions.
• Performs analysis to understand key trends and variances driving financial results.
• Participates in audits and prepares schedules for auditors, rating agencies, and IRS leadership.
