Securian Financial Group is seeking a Senior Consultant to solve complex accounting challenges for Individual Life and Individual Annuity businesses. You will shape reporting, governance, and controls across statutory, GAAP, and Bermuda frameworks, partnering with finance, actuarial, risk, and IT teams.

Hybrid work is available for those near the St. Paul area, with virtual opportunities for non-local candidates.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required in a related field.
• 7+ years experience in reinsurance and/or product, insurance, financial reporting accounting.
• Strong knowledge of statutory and GAAP accounting and reporting requirements.
• Ability to resolve complex accounting issues independently.
• Experience leading projects and influencing outcomes without direct authority.
• Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder-management skills.

Responsabilités

• Serve as the primary accounting expert for life, annuity, and affiliated reinsurance products.
• Lead interpretation and application of statutory, GAAP, and Bermuda accounting requirements.
• Manage preparation, review, and delivery of financial reporting across multiple entities and bases.
• Establish and implement accounting policies for new products and reinsurance structures.
• Provide technical direction to accountants, actuaries, and other contributors.
• Analyze financial results for senior leadership and advise on profitability and forecasting implications.
• Lead projects with significant financial reporting or business impact.
• Develop and improve reporting processes, controls, and governance.
• Support audits, regulatory reviews, and communications with auditors and rating agencies.
