Job summary

Essential Utilities, Inc. in Bryn Mawr, PA seeks a contract Business Analyst IV to support Financial & Operational Analytics and Strategic Initiatives for the Executive Leadership Team.

You will develop budget models and provide deep quantitative insights to drive data-driven decisions. The role includes leading high-level analytics discussions, collaborating with State Controllers, and contributing to the “Finance of the Future” vision with a focus on improvements across the organization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree (preferably in Finance, Accounting, Engineering, or a technical discipline); MBA and/or CFA is a plus.
• 5–10 years of professional experience in Finance, Accounting, Engineering, or an analyst oriented role (preferably in a regulated utility environment).

Responsibilities

• Perform financial-operational analyses and develop metrics and budget models with the Executive Leadership to optimize business performance.
• Create data-driven approaches to generate insights through data analytics and information visualization.
• Lead analytics discussions with leadership to inform strategic decisions and build business cases for process improvements.
• Collect and analyze data to identify problems and opportunities for improvement.
• Prepare/scrub data sources for analysis of operational costs across subsidiaries and functions.
• Develop training to improve data usage and decision-making among Controllers and Functional Heads.
