West Code is seeking an experienced Financial Markets / Risk Technology Engineer to join our investment banking, trading and risk technology practice. You will design backend services, real-time event-driven components and market-data interfaces across front-, middle- and back-office systems.

We value strong Java, Kotlin, Python or C++ skills, with exposure to Kafka, SQL and distributed cloud environments. You’ll collaborate with senior engineers and domain stakeholders on international teams,

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experiences.
• strong backend engineering skills in Java, Kotlin, Python and/or C++
• experience with distributed, event-driven or high-volume systems
• solid understanding of production reliability and failure handling
• good SQL and data-handling skills
• good English
• ability to work with both technical and business stakeholders
• commercial experience in investment banking, capital markets, asset management, hedge funds or financial risk technology
