Job summary

MSIG USA seeks a Financial Lines Claims Counsel to lead a portfolio of high-exposure claims, focusing on D&O, E&O, EPL, Fiduciary, and Fidelity coverages. You will analyze complex coverage issues, manage reserves, supervise settlements, and coordinate with outside counsel to optimize outcomes.

The role offers autonomy, visibility, and opportunities to shape the growth of the Financial Lines claims organization within a global insurer.

Qualifications

JD from an accredited law school.
Active bar admission in at least one U.S. jurisdiction and in good standing.
7+ years handling Financial Lines claims, coverage litigation, or complex commercial litigation.

Responsibilities

Manage a diverse portfolio of complex Financial Lines claims from notice to resolution.
Analyze coverage, liability, damages, and exposure issues; establish reserves and provide claim assessments.
Draft coverage position letters, reservation of rights letters, and other claim communications.
Evaluate and manage high-severity matters, including securities litigation and class actions.
Develop and execute strategic claim resolution plans and settlement negotiations.
Coordinate with outside counsel on litigation strategy and control legal spend.
Collaborate with underwriting, actuarial, legal, and senior leadership on risks and portfolio performance.
Build strong relationships with insureds, brokers, defense counsel, and partners.
Prepare claim summaries, authority requests, and maintain accurate file records.
